Only a very few times in your lifetime will you find a telephone so original, so pristine, and so amazing that you just have to get it. This is a Western Electric B1 mount 202 telephone from 1930 connected to a 1931 anti sidetone subset sporting a gleaming Bakelite cover and correct wooden backing plate.
I have not repainted it, and it's amazing that the paint is so gorgeous, showing virtually no wear. The 2HB dial sports a bright and beautiful porcelain plate. It is topped off with the correct black painted brass wheel and an original number card. The original handset cord is amazing in that it is supple and shows no wear. It's the first style with the tight weave, as opposed to the ones that came later. The cloth covered cord to the subset features internal cloth covered wires, and shows a 1948 date on its internal restraining hook. It shows zero wear, as well. Look at the amazing suede leather on the base plate - beautiful. Its receiver capsule is dated 3/30. It has the upgraded F1 transmitter, and its cup is dated 1937. I added a modern RJ11 line to it. Everything has been done for you.
It's plug-n-play ready right out of the box. It's just unreal that a telephone going on 90 years old has been so well preserved. So I make you this offer.
Show it off to your friends. How many pristine originals are still out there? Modern VOIP and cable lines do not recognize dial pulses. A traditional Ma Bell telephone line still supports these rotary dials. I've got them all over my house and use them all the time.
