From my personal collection, the finest Dachshund dog wood carving that I have ever owned. This antique piece has been painstakingly carved for as much realism and detail as possible, from the anatomy of the dogs to their poses. It was stained in a dark brown/black color and has a lovely patina only acquired with age.

It is screwed into an oval wood base. The two dogs pose on a rocky outcropping, one seated and one standing, gazing into the distance with relaxed yet intent looks. The wood grain shows through the stain, adding a nice depth of color and additional detail.
