This is a rare vase. I believe it was cut by Moser or Hoffman. It is the mythological scene of the three fates, Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos. Lachesis is the measurer of the thread spun on Clotho's spindle.
Determining destiny or thread of life. In mythology it is believed Lachesis and her two sisters would appear within three days of a child's birth to decide its fate. There is writing underneath in German that says spinnet still long the thread of life. The condition is excellent with a couple rough spots that you will have to look for. It is 4 1/2 tall.
I believe it's from the 1880's but could be earlier. Mythological cuttings are very rare.
