MUST SEE Exquisite Rare 1950's Musical Jewellery Box

On offer I have a beautiful and rare vintage TV set musical jewellery box, featuring a light up screen with dancing ballroom couple. This fabulous jewellery box I think is from c. 1950s, has multiple features that combine to create a very desirable piece for any mid century collector of rare curios.

The box is black lacquered with mother of pearl inlay and gold stringing illustrations of 2 doves/lovebirds on the top and bamboo sprays to the sides. The top opens to reveal a compartmented jewellery box.

The box is styled as a television set with 2 functional knobs and a mirrored TV screen, in the centre of which are 2 ballroom dancers, clothed in traditional ballroom dress with hinged legs. The right hand knob winds up the musical movement.

The left hand knob turns the TV on and off. When turned on; the music plays All around the world, the screen is lit up, and the ballroom dancers waltz and twirl. The dancing movement is charming, the dancers move up and down as well as twirling round and changing direction.

The dancers legs are jointed rather than moulded in one piece so the legs flutter as the dancers move upwards. The mirrored backdrop and the lights give the illusion of more than one couple dancing. There is a brand label to the back that reads Prince and a pull out compartment that holds 2 batteries (LR14/C) to power the bulb. The music/Jewellery box is in full working order and extremely good vintage condition.
