Antique Staffordshire Polychrome Black Transferware Plates x 4 9 Must See
4 x 9 Luncheon plates. Please read below, if they were better glazed then they would be amazing as they have little to no surface scratches from use, and other than chips and glazing would have looked new. But unfortunately the glazing is old, it has crackled and therefore they have issues, please read below.
One has a large repair as pieces have previously broken off and someone has taken the time to carefully repair so it is not very noticeable from the front, clear on the back. 2 are very heavily stained where the glaze has crazed and water seeped through over time.
The other is fairly good but heavily crazed and chipped on the back. There are also a few small paint chips, staining and I have tried to show all the worst of them on the photos. They are Antique Staffordshire Polychrome transfer ware with hand paint colours from the 1800s. We also have two pedestal serving dishes also for sake please see other listings. They are 200 years old and they look it, they have seen better days but as you can also see they are magnificent and historical. Still useable and if they had been better glazed then they would be in good condition. LIVE IN REMOTE AREA OR OVERSEAS? This is to allow time for safe packaging around other commitments. We also live remotely so have to pay for collection which adds to our costs.
