Vintage Jones Sewing Machine in original box. Sewing Machine is stamped in the middle'Jones Hand Machine. Sewing Machine is also stamped on base'Jones Hand Machine as supplied to H. H Princess of Wales' &'Jones' Sewing Machine. Case/Box does have some damage Jones' Sign in top right corner has come off. Chip in the top right corner of the sliding panel, Crack in middle of the sliding panel. The sewing machine itself is in excellent condition for age. The paintwork and gold leaf is in excellent condition with minimal wear compared to other similar sewing machines what I've seen. Because i'm not a seamstress im unable to test it to see if it sews but i'm pretty sure if it didn't work my grandparents would have thrown it.

All the cogs and needle move etc. The sewing machine was given to my grandparents in the 1940's from a old lady who'd hardly used it. My grandparents maybe used it once or twice and then stored it in the loft never to see the light of day until now. Ive not cleaned any of it and the machine itself looks clean. But the real striking thing about this machine is the case with the original advertisement on it.

I didn't want to clean that or the wooden box and ruin its looks but its very dusty. Ive done a little research and I'm sure its from 1893 and a type 10 Var 2. So it's 128 years old.
