All the cogs and needle move etc. The sewing machine was given to my grandparents in the 1940's from a old lady who'd hardly used it. My grandparents maybe used it once or twice and then stored it in the loft never to see the light of day until now. Ive not cleaned any of it and the machine itself looks clean. But the real striking thing about this machine is the case with the original advertisement on it.
I didn't want to clean that or the wooden box and ruin its looks but its very dusty. Ive done a little research and I'm sure its from 1893 and a type 10 Var 2. So it's 128 years old. This is a real statement piece or talking point just to look at without using the machine, It wouldn't look out of place in a museum too.
