UP FOR SALE OLD LARGE ALTAR / SHRINE/ INCLUDING STATUE OF BUDDHA AND 4 MONKS. ENTIRELY HAND MADE AND CARVED FROM WOOD AND HAND PAINTED.

LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE CARVED WITH SOME FLORAL PATTERN AND PAINTED. ON THE BOTTOM AROUND THE ALTARS THERE ARE 32 SMALL HANGING WOODEN LANTERNS / ONE IS MISSING ON THE RIGHT SIDE/ THE ALTAR HAS TWO STEPS.

THE LOWER ONE SEEMS TO BE FOR BURNING CANDLES , INCENSE OR DISPLAYING SMALL ITEM USED IN BUDDHISM. ONE PART HAS A METAL /POSSIBLE COOPER/ SHEET.

IT MAY BE TO PROTECT THE WOODEN PARTS FROM WAX OR BURNING /I M NOT SURE/. THE WHOLE LEVEL IS SURROUNDED BY BEAUTIFUL RAILING INCLUDING SOME CARVINGS ON BOTH CORNERS. THE UPPER STEP DISPLAYS LARGE STATUE OF BUDDHA AND FOUR SMALLER STATUES OF MONKS.

I BOUGHT IT SOME 25 YEARS AGO IN AN ANTIQUE STORE IN LOS ANGELES. I DID NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR REPAIRS SINCE I GOT IT.

IT HAS, IN MY OPINION SOUTH-EAST ASIAN STYLE TO IT BUT PLEASE JUDGE BY YOURSELF. IT IS PRETTY BIG; 30''LONG X 26'' DEEP X 16'' HIGH. IT WEIGHTS AROUND 45 LB. ADDITIONAL PICTURES AVAILABLE IF NEEDED.
